What Azimuth Run is
Azimuth Run is a personal marathon training dashboard. It connects to Strava to import your run data, computes a daily readiness score, and uses a language model to write a short narrative summary each morning. The dashboard is currently invite-only and used by a small cohort of runners training for Berlin 2026.
Data we collect
We collect the following categories of data when you use Azimuth Run:
- Activity data — distance, duration, pace, heart rate, elevation, and GPS route from each run you sync via Strava. We do not store raw GPS coordinates beyond what is needed to compute training metrics.
- Account identifiers — your Strava user ID and OAuth tokens, used only to fetch your activities.
- Email address — collected when you join the waitlist or sign up. Used to send the weekly training summary and cohort communications only.
- Self-reported inputs — RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion) and how-you-felt notes if you choose to enter them after a run.
We do not collect your name, location beyond GPS route data, payment details, or any demographic information.
How we use your data
Your data is used exclusively to operate the dashboard:
- Computing your race readiness score, fitness profile, and plan compliance metrics.
- Rebalancing your training plan in response to load, recovery, and adherence signals.
- Generating the AI-narrated daily read and weekly review. The model receives a rolling seven-day summary of your training metrics — not your raw GPS data or account details.
- Sending your weekly training summary by email if you have opted in.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to your training.
AI and language models
Azimuth Run uses the Anthropic Claude API to generate the daily read, weekly review, and plan-adjustment notes. The input sent to the model is a structured summary of your recent training metrics (seven-day window). This does not include your name, email, GPS data, or Strava account identifiers.
Anthropic's data use policy governs how that API call is handled on their side. You can review it at anthropic.com/privacy. Your raw training data is never sent to Anthropic.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data with the following third parties only as required to operate the service:
- Strava — to fetch your activities via their OAuth API. Governed by Strava's privacy policy.
- Supabase — our database provider. Your data is stored in their hosted Postgres service in the EU region.
- Anthropic — as described above, receives anonymised training metric summaries for inference only.
- Resend — used to send the weekly summary email if you have opted in.
- Vercel — hosts the application. Receives standard web request logs (IP address, timestamp, path).
Data retention
Your training data is retained as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated metrics (not linked to you) may be retained for product improvement.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct inaccuracies, or ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing karel@azimuthrun.com. We will respond within 14 days.
Security
Access tokens for Strava are stored encrypted. All data in transit uses TLS. The dashboard is invite-only during the beta period. We follow responsible disclosure practices — if you discover a security issue, please email us before public disclosure.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify cohort members by email before the change takes effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
